Membership to the Toledo Professional Chapter has
many benefits.
Benefits of Membership Meet professionals in a wide range of
communication fields Membership is an excellent way to learn and exchange
ideas with many different communication professionals in the Toledo area.
The Toledo Professional Chapter members are in advertising, corporate And
nonprofit communications, education, electronic/Internet publishing, event
planning, graphic design, journalism, marketing, printing, public
information, public relations and resource development.
Monthly Toledo Chapter meetings
Featured speakers explore current trends and help you sharpen your skills.
Topics for the 2000-2001 membership year will include: exploring
alternative work arrangements, workplace safety and marketing a small
information technology company.
Hands-on Opportunities
Learn new skills and meet members through participation in chapter
projects or special events. For example, build event-planning skills by
serving on the Crystal Awards committee. The Crystal Awards program honors
local communicators.
Eligibility Membership in The Association for Women in
Communications is open to anyone who spends at least 20 hours per week in
communications work, or who has had at least two years of experience as a
paid professional in communications.
Student members are also welcome.
To become a student member of The Association for Women in Communications
you must:
- be actively working toward a degree in one of the fields of
communications.
- maintain an above average GPA at your college or university.
- demonstrate a commitment to pursue an area of communications as a
career.
- have your application signed by your faculty advisor.

Membership Fees Membership is on an individual basis and is not
transferable. All dues are payable on an annual basis.
Levels of Membership:
Professional Communicator - $159/year*
Includes $99 national membership + $35 local chapter membership.
The professional communicator level is reserved for those communicators
with less than 10 years of experience.
Executive Communicator - $194/year*
Includes $159 national membership + $35 local chapter membership.
The executive communicator has 10+ years of experience.
Entrepreneur Member - $119/year*
Includes $84 national membership + $35 local chapter membership.
Perfect for the solo communicator or freelancer.
Collegiate/New Graduate Member - $64/year*
Includes $29 national membership + $35 local chapter membership.
For those enrolled or recently graduated from college.
Retired Member - $64/year*
Includes $29 national membership + $35 local chapter membership.
Member much be 62 years or older and working less than 20 hours a week.
